Major Lazer: Lean On Meaning
Lean On Lyrics
Not long ago
We would walk on the sidewalk
Innocent,
Remember?
All we did was care for each other
When the nights were warm,
We were bold and young
All around,
The wind blows
We would only hold on to let go
Blow...

I think this song is about how when you grow close to someone, you dont wanna let them go. You want them as a shoulder to cry on and, someone to depend on and lean on. Here's how I broke it apart lyric by lyric. (If you dont wanna read all this just scroll to the bottom)
"Do you recall not long ago we would walk on the sidewalk?" This line could mean the two people were together side by side, walking together and spending time together away from the dangers of the world.
"Innocent, remember? All we did was care for each other." People used to be kind towards each other before wats broke out, when they were innocent and caring.
"When the nights were warm," The music video was I believe shot in Africa so this could refer to Africa's weather.
"We were bold and young." Again, referring to the wars.
"All around, the wind blows." Africa again.
"We would only hold on to let go." Basically saying that people loved each other but had to let go when they died and it broke their hearts.
The chorus, which is repeated,I'll explain once. "Blow a kiss, fire a gun." This line is repeated many many times in the chorus and could refer back to the caring people and the wars. It could also have something to do with love and betrayal. It depends on how you look at it.
"We all need someone to lean on." and "All we need is somebody to lean on." are essentially the same thing in saying everyone needs a shoulder to cry on at any given time.
"What will we do when we get old? Will we walk down the same road?" This line is questioning if these two people will be together after all this time.
"Will you be there by my side, standing strong as the waves roll over?" This line could be referring to two things: 1.Another question on if they will be together through all of the "waves" of up and downs, or 2.A literal wave of water washing out the world, possibly a tsunami or hurricane causing lots if destruction.
"When the nights were long, calling for you to come home." Person A wants Person B to come home from some sort of trip and wants the long night to end and to be with Person B.
"All around, the wind blows. We would only hold on to let go." Refer to above.
Chorus, refer to above.
If you read the whole thing and made it this far, congrats!!! I didnt think ANYONE would actually READ all the way down to the bottom, but if you did, thanks! I hope you enjoyed my explanation of Major Lazer's song "Lean On", feat. MØ and DJ Snake!

As you grow old with someone you tend to love more intensely however, regrets begin to develop as time goes by and you think of what "life could have been". Our bodies change, people get bitter but love, sex..always brings you back to where it all began. Always Leaning on that forever and always. Gun represents the regrets

My interpretation is sometimes u need someone to lean on, really, thats the truth.
