Metallica: Bleeding Me Meaning
Song Released: 1997
Bleeding Me Lyrics
I'm digging my way to something
I'm digging my way to something better
I'm pushing to stay
I'm pushing to stay with something
I'm pushing to stay with something better
I'm sowing the seeds
I'm sowing the seeds I've...

#1 top rated interpretation:This is one of the best lyrical songs of metallica. The repetitiveness of "I'm digging my way..." "I'm pushing to stay..." indicates a habit or routine of how he is living his life. More so searching for something better rather than striving for it. The next two verses indicate a sense of reflection and enlightenment. He realises that in his life what he is searching for cannot be found because he continues to make the same mistakes. We all know the saying "we reap what we sow". It's almost as if he is saying I had no idea the seeds I planted would give me so much but what comes with that is also the burden he bares. The leeches in his life are the people constantly wanting more from him and sucking the life out of him. Then he describes how he is asking for a cure or a way for it to stop. "Caught under wheels roll" clearly to me identifies he has no cure or answer to his problem so the cycle continues. That's why the song ends the way it starts.

To me its about james having a drinking problem.
-
it sounds like he is feeding his divorced wife. feeding his wife bleeding himself...wife aka beast u motherfuckers should know
-
The leech is at the bottom of a tequila bottle.
-
This song is clearly about addiction. I can relate to that.
-
James actually said in an interview that the song was about his therapy for his alcohol addiction.
-
It's about James' drinking issue. "digging my way to something better" James' drinking was destroying his family. "I take the leash that's leading me" he wants help but has no idea how to get it, so he let's his life take him there.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
"this thorn on my side , this thorn on my side is from the tree i 've planted it tears & i bleed" ,fantastic clearly shows a betrayal.
"Caught on the wheel roll i take that leech am bleeding me cant stop to save my soul i take that leech thatz leading me am bleeding me " i think james tried to convey a message to all metallica fans that life is nothing but a perfect roller coster ride where u may have compramise in certain situations where u might make some personal gains but you may have take a decision which u dont agree , the word leech clearly indicates greed which i think is an eveil cause.
