Sad But True Lyrics

Hey (hey)
I'm your life
I'm the one who takes you there

Hey (hey)
I'm your life
I'm the one who cares

They (they)
They betray
I'm your only true friend now

They (they)
They'll betray
I'm forever there

I'm your dream, make you...

Clearly this song is written by someone who spent an evening drinking skunk Miller lite from a can opened years after it's born on date. It's powerful and makes even the wimpy Millennial male feel they can bench press Rosie O'Donnell the lyrics hint to something dark and evil pulling the strings . . . Likely the Guy driving the Miller truck selling the outdated Miller lite he as saposed to dump at a discount to Juan the sleazy bar manager. We've all felt the affects. Water, asprin and sleep followed by something greasy from Denny's is the only cure. . . Oryou know . . It's just a song.

Sad but true is obviously a song about inner conflict of sorts. Although the interpretations of say drug addiction or manipulation are valid as well, i never heard this song in that way. I envision it as a reigning in of the shadow self which has become externalized, perhaps by external sources, by the true self. A dialogue between the two, i hear in the lyrics. Well, that might not be the way to put it, but similar. I hear the voice of the guilty conscience, or the true self, speaking to the person during a moment of reflecting, when i hear this. I dont feel like quoting the lyrics but these are my thoughts.

This song is about mind control, psycological warfare, it explains what a mind control operative might say to try control the victim and also gives insight to how much of the victims mind is under control. AT The end "IM YOU" says how the operative is controlling the mind of the victim so much that he might as well be him.

A think that the song is a riddle. When the song is interpretated the verses are like clues for the one who is listening to help them to guess "who is?" the one that is interpretating and the last verse is the answer of the riddle ¨I´m you"

This song is about manipulation in his many ways.

    Hey
    I'm your life
    I'm the one who cares
    They
    They betray
I'm your only true friend now
    They
    They'll betray
    I'm forever there"

Is clearly the isolation part of the manipulation. The manipulator isolate the victime. No one else has to care, the manipulator is "your life" and the others "They betray". So only manipulator opignon exists. No frends, no family, etc...

After, the song enumerates all the things you can acualy do under manipulation. Drugs is also a way to manipulate.

"I'm your dream." I'll tell you what you whant.
"I'm your eyes" I'll tell you how you have to interpret things hapends to you in life, and i'll tell you what hapend when you weren't there. I tell the truth
"I'm your pain" I'll make you care, i'll make you feel pain when you have to.
I control all of this things of you.

"I'm your truth," I'll tell you what's the truth, but in fact i'm "telling lies"
"I'm inside open your eyes" I can control your feelings, you dreams, i'm inside you.
"I'm you" I control you so deeply that i'm you, or you are me, well you are what you wan't me to be,I owne you, so "I'm you". You are the relection of me. (Some manipulators are scisofrenics.)

You start of taking concience of this, "open your eyes", but you can fight it. You finaly resign, it's "Sad But True".

So this songs, perfecly speeks about manipulation, as if the manipulator would tell you, laughing at your face, of how deeply he can control you. The title make reference to the impotency of the victim to get free of this manipulation, that see all this, but can't get free of the manipulation. And belive me, it is Sad But True.

I think the individuals in Metallica were Project MKUltra Mind Control victims in their youths. The 'do my dirty deed, scape goat' represents being a Project Monarch, Blue Bird, Manchurian Candidate assassin where there are no connections to the handler doing black ops through the victim. But instead at any time the Manchurian candidate could be called up to unleash mayhem on a specific target by subconscious suggestion but instead are puppets to the puppet master by an ultra top secret decades old program within our own government inspired by top World War II German scientists brought over to the United States during the post war era via Operation Paper-Clip. I am sure that its no coincidence the large 'M' and 'K' depicted in the band's icon and that Metallica and MKUltra sound very similar as well when pronounced out loud. Perhaps the band members are depicting their own victimization like Cathy O'Brian describes in her book 'Trance-formation of America' or the documentary video 'Most Dangerous Game.' This was the same situation as Valerie Wolf, Chris deNicola, and Claudia Mullen testified about their 1995 testimonies of childhood experimental victimization.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I believe that it's about people in control of others for example in the first verse it's telling them to trust them and only them.

This song is about the author's true self; the one true self that no one else ever sees. The subconcious mind. In the end, even his true self, his subconcious, deserts him.
