Metallica: So What Meaning
So What Lyrics
Well, I've been to Hastings and I've been to Brighton
I've been to Eastbourne too
So what, so what
And I've been here, I've been there
I've been every fucking where
So what, so what
So what, so what, you boring little...

It's a cover of a song by UK punk band the Anti Nowhere League from 1981. ANL singer Animal said he wrote it after overhearing two men in a pub boasting about things they'd done , so he wrote a song mocking that with ridiculous and increasingly obscene boasts. I guess the chorus is Animal's response to pub bores.
The song was on the b-side of their first single. Copies were seized by the Obscene Publications Squad because of So What's lyrics.
The Anti Nowhere League reformed in the 90s as a direct result of Metallica covering the song. -
It seems the song may lead to some problems with the fans, but if Metallica really would mean that "I don't give a fuck, I do what I want! " then we can say it's a great song, otherway, it's a disrespect toward the fans. Shall we sing with ya while you do ? Hell NO !

Of cours this song says that "I don't fucking care 'bout ppl say and i do wathever i want"

This is quite the brilliant song. It's truly a masterpiece. Anyone who disagree's, read the lyrics... And listen to exactly what it says.
-
@ previous writer: tarnished their rep? pissed of the fans? haha fuck off. This is one of the best songs.
-
Uhh, hmm This is an Anti-Nowhere League song, Metallica often records cover songs in the studio to warm up to the recording process again then puts them out as a B side to singles, so the meaning of this song is to pay tribute to a punk band that they liked
