Metallica: Turn The Page Meaning
Song Released: 1998
Turn The Page Lyrics
East of Omaha
you can listen to the engines
moanin’ out as one song
you can think about the woman
or the girl you knew the night before
But your thoughts will soon be wandering
the way they always...

#1 top rated interpretation:Sorry, but this song is not about James. It's a cover of an old Bob Seger song. I'm sure that James and the other guys in Metallica can relate to it, otherwise they wouldn't have recorded themselves, but it's not based on anything from Metallica's personal experience.
-
It was written by Van Morrison not buy Bob Segar
-
Bob Segar wrote this in 1972 about an incident at a truck stop somewhere I believe in Iowa.

no matter of the video, This song has nothing to do with a stripper or any of metallica. It was written by Bob Seger back in 1973 about the hardships of life on the road. Way before Metallica was a big name and the words are almost the exact same as the 73 version, with a few differences. forget the video and listen to the song as done by Bob Seger

WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP CHECKING THE VIDEO IN HOPE TO FIND OUT THE MEANING???
sometimes can help but other can get you exactly the oposite direction...I hope I won't have to read that untill it sleeps is about face paint and mud and...a baby?
anyways the song is about getting on with your life, living each day at a time, not many plans and not keeping much of the past...
He travels, goes up the stage, makes the show and when it's over just time to hit the road and start again. -

I think this song in some way other then how he's on the road on tour..I think it could also be about someone in a relationship that basically didn't work out like he tried and in the end he didn't want to b with the person anymore and started acting out and then after everything he goes home relaxes and thinks about the past and realizes he had to "turn the page" of a chapter in his life. But he still can hear the last words she said to him.
-
This song is actually about a Stripper/Prostitute,and her daughter in Metallica's interpretation
-
I think this song is about more then just the struggle of being on tours. I think it has a lot more to do with being an outcast among his own family even. I think Bob Segar was telling us that he lived a hard life and all he could do at the end of the day way smoke a cigarette and turn that page of his life. It's way deeper then a literally long ride.
-
I think the first interpretation was correct, except that it wasn't about James or any of the Metallica guys, it was about Bob Seger, or a character created by Bob Seger.
