Phillip Phillips: Home Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Home Lyrics
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m gonna make this place your home
Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the...

My son died by suicide on 09-26-16. My husband and I were naturally having a hard time with all the questions we had of why. Why did he not come to us? Why did he not ask for help? We were both tormented by what his final moments were like. At a very low point, together we heard this song. We felt like this was what God told our son as he was taking him to an everlasting life. He was telling him not to be afraid because his demons would no longer fill him with fear. we got a great deal of comfort knowing that our son was not alone as he left this world.
-
This song is about not giving up. The message is to stay strong and not be afraid to need support. Some people do not like to ask for help, even though there is nothing wrong with being unsure of the future. This song has a great message.

I think it could be about a man and a woman going down n Life's "unfamiliar road" and the man saying hold on, we'll get through these hard times together.

Life is like a meatball, its bumpy

I played it at my sons funeral because to me it was calming. As the words played I could picture God talking to my son as he lead him into heaven where he would be making a new home. My son was not alone, God was by his side. It is comforting.
-
Pet rescue; it reminds me of bringing home my very insecure dog and how we worked to make him feel like he finally had a place he could call home. He was abadonded living on the streets in a small town until someone wonderful came along and saved him so we could adopt him.
-
This song is about a mother and father who adopt a child. Not as a blessing to the child but a blessing to the family. Making a a home of love and support for questions that are to come. Saying hold on to me on this unfamiliar journey that is certain to have ups and downs but in the end is one of true love for a true blessing...A child.
-
I think it could be about friendship, holding on forever. Friends are forever and he's talking about helping his friend through the hard times. Not every song is about romance, I think it could be used toward friends or even family as well.
-
I believe that this song is about a young couple who is just starting out in the world together. This interpretation came from the use of the lyric "unfamiliar road", and the "wave is stringing us along" would refer to barely getting by. Like most couples who are trying to make a life together for the first time, the "Demons" are the worry that comes with being out on your own. Also, there is the one partner in the relationship that appears to be the rock, keeping the other calm, i.e.- "Hold on, to me as we go" and "Just know you're not alone".
-
I have always thought this song was for some sort of conspiracy, I know it sounds crazy. Although It says clearly "Settle down it will all be clear, dont pay no minds to the DEMONS they fill you with fear. The troubles they might drag you down, you'll get LOST you can ALWAYS be FOUND, Just know YOU'RE NOT ALONE, IM GONNA make this place your home"
It's sounds like a fearful place , where you can not escape and you are not alone. Illuminati ? I think yes. -
For me it is a promise. This song came to me in a desperate time when I was trying to decide what to do with my life... It was like god saying -Don´t be afraid to become the very best version of yourself, don´t be afraid to decide what you want to be or where you want to be. I will be there for you, I will make that place you fear, a place you can call home- Believe in your dreams, work hard to make them come true, clear your mind and understand the choice you made, and He will do the rest.

This song is a body dump song. There is a victom who is either dead or bound and this psychopath is singing to her. Creepy.
-
Life is hard with unfamiliar twists and turns and it pulls us this way and that.
The author offers comfort to his friend. Any place can be your home.
The demons represent our fears and our uncertainty. They have gotten into our head. But he's saying to stop listening to them. You are safe.
The sentiment offered by the author could be that of one friend to another or of a family memeber to another. It could also be a word of comfort from God to all believers.
