   The boy is looking back at his old relationship. The girl wanted it work out and "save" him before he hurts himself from whatever it is that going on with him..whether it be drugs or alcohol or whatever else. The boy says that hes not good enough for her "im not the answer for the questions that you still have." Now looking back years later he still loves her hints the lyrics "it kills me not to know this..."

   I think this is a song about a break up in the past, so the man becomes depressed and starts taking drugs and such. Then the woman comes back save him from all he is doing by saying she doesnt hate him and goes on about that.
