Silverchair - Abuse Me Meaning

Song Released: 1997
Abuse Me Lyrics
Calling out my name
Nothing seems to bother
Wish I had a clue
C'mon abuse me more I like it
Well I don't think you like me
Well I hate you as well
No one seems to like you
Wish I couldn't tell
C'mon abuse me...
-
Throw the sailors overboard
- set me adrift, leave me alone, I don't want your help, I don't care if I end up abusing myself, too. -
Daniel was striking directly againist his music manager/company. This person he is referencing that he doesn't like (I hate you as well) is using the boys without care for them as humans...just part of the machine to be used and...abused. He is standing up and telling him " I like it " in the sense he will not be bothered by his lack of morality and respect. I really like this simple but powerful song. He feels as he is only a dollar sign to this person, and nobody has time for that.

It was a strike against the media and the people who had it against him, Why does anyone try to abuse you or bully you 'to get a reaction' and if he is saying "come on abuse me more I like it" he is taking the fun out of what they were doing to him. Well that's what I got from the song.
