Steve Miller Band: Joker Meaning
Joker Lyrics
Some call me the gangster of love
Some people call me Maurice
Cause I speak of the pompitous of love
People keep talkin' about me, baby
Say I'm doin' you wrong, doin' you wrong
Well, don't you worry...

"I really love your peaches want to shake your tree" means she is giving him a "hand job"?? I understand he is singing jt but thus was always my interpretation?

A song about a free-spirited individual, playing with and in, out and in the mindset of a ''soul caring Psychopomp guide'' that loves to play his music in the sun that is dear to his heart. When he is with this girl that he wants to love and care for, while also likes playing ''the gangster of love'' part like some kind of a playboy spacecowboy jokester that likes to take midnight tokes while talking to her about grandious godly love that he wants to share with her and her peaches that were shakind from her tree. Preparing her not to worry her about what people says about him that he knows and acknowledges his faulty human nature part of himself, but other people worry for her who don't really know him all that well, but by his sinful nature that likes getting his love on the run while getting high that they're afraid will lead her astray and too high with him.
