#1 top rated interpretation:The meaning of this song lies in the last verse. "You look at me like an animal (lit. Monkey), as if you were saints". He's not criticizing the drunkard character he's assumed, he's criticizing those who call him a failure and justify it by hiding behind arbitrrily constructed definitions of success. I.e. marriage, children, sobriety, fidelity, wealth, etc. Existential angst is at the core of much of Stromae's work: alors on danse, tous les memes, and carmen all touch on such ideas. But perhaps Sartre said it best, "Only the guy who isn't rowing has time to rock the boat".

Stormea thinks that he is a loser, he speaks of how everyone is better than him and he tryed. No he does not say this directly but through the lyrics you can see his misrable self talking about why he got drunk and is now on the streets, because his girlfreind/wife dumped him because he couldnt have children.
