Sugarloaf: Green-Eyed Lady Meaning
Song Released: 1970
Green-Eyed Lady Lyrics
Strolling slowly towards the sun
Green-eyed lady, ocean lady
Soothing every raging wave that comes
Green-eyed lady, passion's lady
Dressed in love, she lives for life to be
Green-eyed lady feels life I never...

100% about a green eyed Pisces woman. Last of the zodiac, the sign.. two opposite fish of water. That being the 12th sign of all zodiac. No rules no directions just intriguing, illuminating, alluring grounding empathetic and mysterious!
Can you handle her or New England ?Thisbeach/country Ireland descendent too. Think this song was made for me, my green eyed friends and my beautiful stepdaughter -
while driving towards key west, i couldnt help but notice how beautiful and green the water we were driving past was. it was also a gorgeous dark green. just then we passed a sign that said SUGAR LOAF. i thought this must be where the group got their name and this was the green eyed lady they sang about. but when i looked the band up i found that they were from denver and the band name was after a nearby mountain. still a beautiful memory.

A woman a man in love with
Who always at a distance.
Love afar.
HeHot for a vision
Real or not

I think the Green eyed lady is the Moon. I can't explain why the songwriter refer's to the moon this way, but it ties in with the various other references associated with the ocean, waves, passion and the moon has always been linked to romance.
-
My interpretation is that this song is about Ireland and the poets and lovers it has given the world.

I agree with the person who said it's about a man who is very much in love with a lady with green eyes. For example way back in 1988 my husband and I started dating, and he made me a cassette tape of songs that he thought reminded him of me. This song was one of them. Yes I have green eyes. I think it is a lovely song. Very sweet.

Some people say it's about the ocean.

These lyrics were written by a man who was very much in love with - and in awe of - a woman who had green eyes! Absolutely NOT about the green-eyed MONSTER of jealousy - sheesh people, get your idioms straight! Some women, myself included, actually possess green-colored irises...and we're not the jealous type!

Green-Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf.. I unintentionally forgot to say, trust your significant other.
I have to add, for friendships with guys also, it's not pleasant to be a green-eyed lady with your male friend. Especially if they only see you as a friend. It's a major turn-off and you'll not be friends anymore.

Green-Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf lyrics, from my research at song meanings website.. Most of the comments, talked about a boat. I browsed songfacts website and the lead singer's girlfriend at that time was the green-eyed lady. I kinda agree with the latest comment.
So for all women or girls who becomes a green-eyed lady, your significant other. However, for those who are only a friend, it's better to not feel jealous or envious, it only ends a friendship.

A woman who loves you so much that her eyes turn emerald green when she even thinks of you being with another woman.

About a sail boat.
