   my interpretation is that he was someone who lived in a beach town and during summer a girl came on vacation and then they had a little fling and he really fell in love with her but she left without warning and he was used bc she had a different life and relationship back home and the books she left in his bed were like memories of what happened, but he loved her so he’d do it all over again.

   It could be about this guy having this huge experience with this girl named Summer. Or it could just be this guy taking about summer, as in the season. He talks about how summer was there at one moment and then just left so sudden without a warning. This could work for both the season or the girl theory.
