The Lumineers: Stubborn Love Meaning
Stubborn Love Lyrics
make you think she means it this time
She'll tear a hole in you, the one you can't repair
but I still love her, I don't really care
When we were young oh oh we did enough
When it...

#1 top rated interpretation:This song seems to be about being so blindly in love that even though the person is clearly bad FOR you and TO you, you're willing to endure the pain because the love you have for that person is stronger than the love you have for yourself. Holding on to memories from "when we were young" and etc... Telling yourself maybe things will be good again.. And then there's the sting of unrequited love. " the opposite of love's indifference" Knowing the person you love so much doesn't feel the same. But that damn "stubborn love" doesn't give you the option to be rational and self preserving, the best you can do sometimes is "keep your head up" and pray that one day things get better.

She ll tear a hole in you..But i still love her..even when you Watch the video, you see life can be hard at times and then it gets lighter...whatever your experiences, there is always sun after the storm..this song is very powerful.

Divorce sucks but you gotta love em when they leave ya. It's the gracious thing to do. People can only do what they can do. It's a function of spiritual ability - or not. A man of grace is no match for the modern American woman and her lack of commitment and love. So what's he do? He accepts the horrid fate of "the family". He writes a song of understanding, hope and love. The lyrics are to the wife who left. The chorus is directed to the wife and daughter (but the video, of course, directs it to the daughter - who like all of us, continues on with her life - even under the circumstance completely out of her control. Life is still good, very good. She (the daughter) is loved greatly by both the mom and dad and that's what she must focus on: love... not loss.

It's a song to god or whatever u want to call the something we look to when all is wrong and u can't find meaning. In their song they say "she". Life is good then bam... Keep your head up, keep your love.
