The Mars Volta: Telvators Meaning
Telvators Lyrics
The ground
They lowered a tow that
Stuck in his neck to the gills
Fragments of sobiquets
Riddle me this
Flinch stitcheing
Aureole
Stalk the ground
Stalk the ground
You should have seen
The curse that flew right by...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:If you read the book which accompanies the album you will see that the songs are all related to the death of their close friend who was a sound tech. After trying to kill himself by injecting rat poison, he recovers then eventually throws himself off a motorway bridge. Just one big drawn out metaphor for what probably happened to his mind and body as he took his own life.
-
Jim ward is alive and well. He is the lead singer of the band Sparta and used to be in At The Drive In. It was his cousin, Jeremy, who died and who found the diary which Frances The Mute is about. He was the sound manipulator for TMV, not Jim...
-
Actually the guy above you has a point to a certain extent.other references also say that ward found a diary of some man who's life was very much the same.as for what they thought making the record well nobody knows.you just keep listening and wonder.
-
Whoever was above me got it wrong.
Julio didn't write down what he saw, this is just omar and cedric's thoughts on what he might have seen. They have no clue what he saw or if he even saw anything -
You're all right and wrong. Julio venegas(or in "deloused in the comatorium" cerpin taxt) was friends of both omar and cedric, not cedric's best friend. He purposelyt overdosed on morphine which put him in a coma, after he woke up (after writing down all he saw while he was in his coma) he jumped off a motorway crossing.
None of the songs on "deloused" are related to jim ward, the bands sound manipulator who died of a heroin overdose a month before the album was released.
However. "frances the mute" had some references to ward, but most of the album was about a journal which jim ward found when working as a repo man and realised that this man's life was similar to his own. -
True, the whole album is about Julio Venegas who was Cedric's friend who slipped into a coma and ended up ending his life by jumping off the bridge over the mesa st. exit into oncoming traffic.
-
Mingo is correct. The whole deloused in the comatorium CD is about cedric's best friends who attempted suicide, failed and went in to a coma.. after coming out of the coma, he wrote down everything he saw then, in fact, jumped off a bridge or out of his window.
