Type O Negative: Love You to Death Meaning
Love You to Death Lyrics
As salty sweat drips from her breast
Her hips move and I can feel what they’re saying, swaying
They say the beast inside of me is gonna get ya, get ya, get
Black lipstick stains her glass of red...

What I hear is a story that comes across as a tryst twisted love. Of two people who play the predator and the prey in play, switching from domination to submissive. And what was supposed to be simple fling, starts turning into something more. He finds that even throughout all their wild, passion laden throes with each other, there's a connection.
No longer does he simply worship her thighs, but her warmth. No longer does he simply want to suckle her breast, but be comforted by it. The wild sex is no longer simply amazing, but has somehow turned deep. He no longer wishes to be her slave, but a partner worth her her love.
So he questions, is he good enough? She can have anyone she sets her eyes on, but could he possibly be one she sees only for the rest of their lives?

I think the song is about a guy who is madly in love with a girl, to the point of it being obsessive love. "The beast inside of me" might refer to him doing something on impulse, without an indication of what it is, OR acting out on doing something stupid to prove his love. "I am your servant, may I light your cigarette?" could refer to him willing to serve the girl he's so obsessed with; "I beg to serve, your wish is my law" could also point to this. "Now close those eyes and let me love you to death" meaning "let me love you till death do us part" - "Shall I prove I mean what I'm saying" referring to him proving just how much he loves this girl, or that he's willing to commit suicide, or even murder, in order to prove his love for her. "I say the beast inside of me's gonna get ya" could mean that he recognises that he's going to do something stupid in order to prove that his love for her is real. "Am I good enough for you" is him, of course, asking if he's good enough for her, as he probably feels that he ISN'T, and needs her to reassure him that he is, in fact, good enough. But what if she doesn't think he is? Who knows - maybe he'll eventually kill himself, or her.

It works on several levels. Take the line asking “shall I prove what I’m saying?” On one level, he’s saying he is a fantastic lover on the physical level. I.e. I can keep going until we die of exhaustion. On another, he’s saying he’ll prove his love is true until death. On yet a third level, the implication is that he will kill himself (or perhaps her) to prove his love. And that’s before you get into the Vampire/Necrophilia gothic theme... As with all Type O Negative lyrics, it ain’t just what it seems on the surface.
