Sorry, Blame It On Me Lyrics

As life goes on I’m starting to learn more and more about responsibility
I realize everything I do is affecting the people around me
So I want to take this time out and apologize for things I have done
And things that have not occurred...

Akon refers to taking acknowledging and responsibility (mainly from a male point of view)for ones actions.

He makes repeated references to things he acknowledges may not have been the best course of action and is repeatedly saying sorry. Literally like a confession.

He goes further to disarm and give permission to petty backbiters and blame-mongers to "put the blame on" him.

The skill of his writing goes further where he makes it clear that a person who causes another hurt and can't aplogize should feel ashamed.
"If I can't apologize for being wrong
Then it’s just a shame on me"

Then he goes on to skilfully include the issue with an underage club goer. He allows the listener to question parental responsibility, rules of entry for Club Zen and Verizon's distancing from the issue. All of whom refused to accept their part in the matter and laying the blame squarely with him and contributing to the negative press he recieved at the time.

    I love it.

akon knows that he has done wrong and he is sorry for what happened to his kids and to his wife and things like that, he is asking everyone to blame it on him as everything is his fault and he feels guitly of making these problems that he feels he should carry the burden from everyone
