Amanda Palmer: Guitar Hero Meaning
Guitar Hero Lyrics
Good morning killer king you're a star
That's gorgeous, hold it right where you are
The weather's kinda lousy today
So what, oh what, oh what'll we play
Stratocaster strapped to your back
It's a semiautomatic like...

I personally believe that this song is about a boy who spends most of his time on video games ("Guitar Hero"). He is so wrapped up in his own world that he can't understand the lives of others. He is finally forced out into the real world and either metaphorically or literally shot to pieces.

The first time I heard this song I got the impression that it's about fame and depression.
It sounds really stupid, but I see this storyline about an artist who makes it big by writing songs with no meaning. Eventually, they start thinking they're worthless, get depressed, start doing drugs and that sort of thing, and finally commit suicide.
That's just my impression; I've been told I over-analyze. I've heard interpretations that say it's about someone who gets obsessed over video games and can't take the real world, and I've heard some interpretations of war.
