For the ancient Heathen Norse, they believed their lives/fates were woven by the Norns long before they were born. The song implies that this predetermined fate should inspire fearlessness in a warrior as the date of their death is already determined. To worry about it is to waste time. In the movie The 13th Warrior they attempted to demonstrate this through the line spoken by Herger The Joyous:The All-Father wove the skein of your life a long time ago. Go and hide in a hole if you wish, but you won't live one instant longer. Your fate is fixed. Fear profits a man nothing.
While the weaver is wrong, the concept of pre-determined fate and a lack of worry is there.
