Apocalyptica: Broken Pieces Meaning
Broken Pieces Lyrics
I need to pack it in
I can't pull your heart together with just my voice alone
A thousand shards of glass I came to meet you in
You cut the peace out of me
And as you ripped it all apart,
That's when I...

Sounds like the perfect Anakin and Obi-Wan song to me....

I can relate to this song very well on many levels. Being a Christian, I believe it's showing how we try to reach out to those who haven't accepted Christ and been saved. However, we have to be careful not to compromise our own faith in the process.
I have/had a best friend. We hung out every single afternoon for multiple hours over 3 years. We told each other everything. But, eventually, I ended up being exposed to some new things (certain bad words, topics, gossip, suicidal thoughts, etc.) and went along with it. We grew closer, but my relationship with Jesus began to fade into the (excuse me) slutty clothes, crude topics of discussion, and the language I used.
I thank the Lord that He called me back to Him from that. It was hard to pull out of the habits. I enjoyed it, feeling accepted by someone, being part of something. It's been about two and a half years and over that time I've started to take my faith seriously. I identify with this song because, for the longest time, I held onto the memories of our friendship, trying to bring her to Christ. I realized that it was making me unstable, pulling me back into the abyss of the past. I eventually had to cut off the closeness of our friendship, which broke my heart. This song makes me think of how I had to 'turn and run' from the temptation or we would 'both be drowned'.
Just my feelings of the song. Sorry for the life story. :) -
I think her guy becomes a vampire, with twilight and all who knows

It's about someone that she thought she knew so well, but they turn on her and become a bad person and they grow apart, yet she tries to offer help but in the end, decides it's best to give up and leave them behind for her own well being.
