Aqua: Doctor Jones Meaning
Song Released: 1997
Doctor Jones Lyrics
-
I've always believed this song actually delves far deeper than a mere summer fling.
The first verse describes the beginnings of a relationship were everything is kisses and sweet. But after the some time the guy in the relationship starts heroine and becomes addicted.
The girl no long feels like she is with her old boyfriend now he is strung out and using, she feels alone and wants him back by her side. She yearns for that love they shared before in their relationship.
I take the chorus to be a desperate view from his point of view where the addiction is his doctor and heroine his medicine, and jonesing on heroine is the only thing that can get him to wake up and hunt down more drugs before the cycle repeats.
Bit of a low one, but brilliant depth if so and it fits perfectly.
