Beatles: Lovely Rita Meaning
Song Released: 1967
Lovely Rita Lyrics
Lovely Rita, meter maid
Lovely Rita, meter maid,
Nothing can come between us.
When it gets dark I tow your heart away.
Standing by a parking meter,
When I caught a glimpse of Rita,
Filling in a ticket in...
-
RITA WAS THE GIRL WHO PAUL HAD PICKED UP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THAT MADE HIM CRASH AND DIE. HE EVEN SAYS " Took her home and nearly made it" HE DIDNT MAKE IT HOME.
-
Paul is attracted to Rita asks her out
After dinner he "nearly makes it" (almost got laid)... or wishes he had...
Later he says "give us a wink and make me think of you"
He's gonna do what every guy does after rounding second base just to get tagged out on the home stretch... he's gonna jerk off.
Now the tone changes and Paul is heard making some rather Risqué vocals if ya know what I mean...
This is now where I believe the Beatles wrote the first RAP rhythm ever!!
Listen to the syncopated rhythms and the Ah's by Paul until the end. Maybe you'll hear what I'm talking about. -
Lovely Rita wasn't a meter maid. When Paul left the recording studio on Abby road after an argument with John, he say a female walking in the rain. He stopped and gave her a ride, this was Rita. Once she noticed who he was she got excited causing him to lose control and flipping his Aston martin. She survived Paul didn't..
-
It is said that when Paul came out of a recording studio, there was a woman giving him a parking ticket, which he took with appreciation. He went home to do the song then.
-
Lovely Rita was the girl that Paul was supposedly looking at when he "died" in 1966, and replaced Paul with William campbell, aka, Billy shears, this song is about Rita, but the beginning of the song really talks about Paul's "fatal accident" but the rest of the song is I guess what Paul wishes what happened.
-
This is just a fun song about an attractive woman named Rita who works as a meter maid.
