with tangerine trees and marmalade skies -
somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly …
a girl with kaleidoscope eyes!

cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
towering over your head …

this song and it's meanings have been thrown around more than a baseball with it's cover so worn that it was taped with electrians tape when i was young and playing in a vacant lot in the bronx. what struck me as a message from john or george is that lsd is #39 and let it be is # 40 on this week's list. blew my mind.

All you people are dumb as fuck. I bet none of you hav evr really done acid. I have. 9 times each at 500micrograms or higher. So I'm gonna settle this. The song is completely about LSD. marmalade skys refers to the most common type of LSD visuals that occur when looking at the sky. and the boat in the river, is actuallu the feeling of being on water one gets when frying on LSD. The picture had something to do with it, but John was tripping when he wrote the song, or thinking of a trip. This song is acid

Hey are you willing to open your mind up to an inevitable and awesome possibility when it comes the song. Just email me at erikdjones22@aol.com And I will send you everything that I have found to be of concordance to this song. I am a studier of moleosophy. And it is my central belief. That moles, body tags, mellanious, beauty marks, and so on are to me stars themselves. You know god is like a kid on top of an anthill with a magnifying glass. you get the jist of it...? And how the woman who spoke of the rose should look into matrix two and tell me what is that on the side of the oracle, Gloria Foster? Or why people all around the world have the same ones? Like on the cheek or by the eyes or neck or arms legs, feet and so on. Lucy I am sad to say, and its amazing no one thought of this. You know Lucy, is lucifer. and yes the diamonds are the stars. That is what the meaning of the title of the song means. as for the lyrics??? naw. I'll just take the title and run with it. IF this is all new to you and you think would you be interested in seeing and reading some of the things, mysteries, or cool allegories that will make you go hmmm???
checkout my facebook. yes it is an actual address, but if you want to know more contact me. Here is another one, lucifer is the light barer. and his light is knowledge? The bible states that he was the chief musician. So if music was his fortay? what would be his greatest power all the way down till now? And if there is one thing that can change and effect the world in a whole, simple, music???

I believe the song was inspired by john lennon's son julian's drawing of his classmate Lucy..but i know they experimented with acid..john lennon apprently admitted that the first 2 lines of Maxwell's Silver Hammer were written on 2 separate acid trips

lennons son julian came home one day and showed his dad a paining of his friend lucy this was in 66, on the picture lucy was stood and in the background was stars and she had diamonds for eyes, because julian was very fond of her and saw diamonds as being the best like he thought she was. this is where the main insperation was from to write the song and make the title 'lucy in the sky with diamonds. but quite obviously lennon added some insperation from past 'trips' whilst on the drug.

'Paul admitted the "truth", a.k.a. LSD!!!! ITS ALL ABOUT LSD!!!! '

He was joking, dumbass. It's about his kids drawing, not LSD at all.

Here is three but intrinsically related interpretations of this song that I’ve managed to work on. They are to do with the Virgo (zodiac), Saint Lucia and Dante's Divine comedy.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. This is related to the constellation Virgo (virgin, fertility). Lucy means light & the diamonds are Virgo's stars. "Look for the girl (Virgo) with the sun in her eyes”. This is the sun in the constellation of Virgo. "And she's gone" means no longer a virgin, as Virgo descends below the horizon. This is all myths from ancient Greece.

Lucy appears again "I am the Walrus", a song with disguised sex imagery but also in an astrological sense. Semolina pilchard (semen from Pices), running up the Eiffel Tower - The penis of Paris! When virgo moves down in the west, and appears to recline, Pisces rises in the east (erection), to discharge his passion (or poisson: French for fish) into saucy Virgo. When Virgo moves below the horizon, she is no longer a virgin. Anyway, that more to do with the related song "I am the Walrus".

There is another legend but related to Virgo, albeit Christianised. In other words, spiritual fulfilment replaces cosmic sex themes. Virgo basically means virgin, and most virgin myths correspond to this sign. The name Lucy is the same as Lucia (also meaning light). The Myth goes as follows Saint Lucia consecrated her virginity to god, and for that she was punished by having her eyes gouged out (hope this isn't the Kaleidoscope eyes) with pitch-forks. Miraculously she could still see (sun in her eyes). Her eyes were said to be dazzling (Kaleidoscope eyes) due to spiritual sight. Lucia also appears in the Dante's Divine comedy and placed opposite Adam in the mystic Rose. The mystic rose is the zodiac & constellations - so the connection to Virgo still holds. Adam is linked to Jesus, and Jesus (a Capricorn) lived in the Age of Pisces. The story also features centaurs which could be the rocking horse people. I've not read this epic but parts I have seen include tall flowers, and of course, the mystic (zodiac) rose.

what i think is that he was remembering the hallucinations from one of his drugs (not necessarily LSD). they did do a couple of drugs.i`ll admit, the song has some pretty crazy stuff in it. but the thing that inspired john was julian`s picture. the kid described the picture of Lucy as "lucy in the sky with daimonds". the actual song is about fate and love. the guy is in an emotional rut and never ever looks at the beauty of other things. he meets her, and that boots him out of the hole he`s in. he starts to look around and see for the first time. then he sees her again, and his world is right again.

The song "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" comes from a picture that John Lennon's sun drew of his classmate Lucy. It was a picture of Lucy in front of the sky with stars and the title on the picture had said "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" and that's how the song had come about. Some people think that it's about LCD which it's not.

Hi. I'm back from before. I have something else to add about my theory. Since I write songs, I have learned that some songs with have hidden meanings, either in the title or the lyrics. In this song, the three main words are Lucy, Sky, Diamonds. The words initials spell LSD. They were using hidden meaning.

I recently got Beatles Rock Band, and by the looks of the backgrounds they have, this song is about being on LSD. It's talking about marshmallow people and a girl with kaleidescope eyes. They just keep talking about crazy things that can only happen when you're on a drug trip.

While it may not be ALL about LSD, That is most def. what he was on while writing the song...I mean if you HAVE ever done it...then you know when you hear the song this is what comes to mind.
