John wanted to write a roy orbison style song and at the same time he was intrested in the double use of please in some bing crosby song( please lend your eats to my pleas in the lyric specifically). So he got to work and this is what he created.

every song on this page don't revert back to sex. paul could open the window look at the crowd and say give me the one over there and john wantsthat red headed one right next to you. by time they were in the elevator they were getting their panty's wet. believe me john and paul didn't need that. that being possibly getting a phone call saying she was pregnant. as far as the the lyrics there is nothing to to tear apart, that song has more tha half of it saying come on. true it's just a little silly song they wrote it while under the influence of getting high with dylan

    To lazur

they did not write for roy orbison

as they did not know roy orbison

check release dates once in awhile

    this is late 1962

no one outside of England, well okay, and Hamburg

had a clue who the beatles were then

it was done, originally, in the orbison style

thank god for george martin as it mustve have sounded horrid

and, seriously, it it really that hard to figure out that this is a "oh come put out please" type song

To "Winnipegger": They wrote this as a Roy Orbison song FOR Roy Orbison. For some reason he didn't do it. He should have: Del Shannon had a huge U.S. hit with "From Me To You" before the Beatles released anything here. (They offered Del any song he wanted. Del joked later that he should've chosen "I Want To Hold Your Hand".) With all 3 men gone now, we'll never get any more insight on this.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

The genesis of this song is simple -- it's John trying to do Roy Orbison. John always wanted to do a song where a word had two meanings within the lyric; the influence in this was a Bing Crosby song that had the lyric "Please lend your ears to my pleas..."

The basic message of the song is that "it takes two to heavy pet", and she's not doing her part, but it is not necessarily about oral sex specifically.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

There are a limited number of possibilities that can apply to "Please please me like I please you":. It requires that the pleasing in either direction is essentially the same thing; a-"like". It cant be kissing, hugging, or intercourse, as these automatically have both parties "pleasing" each other. So how can I please you while you are not pleasing me? "Please give me oral sex, like I give you oral sex", seems the most likely choice. The cleaned-up version could simply be: "Please pay attention to me the way I do to you", but the beauty of the lyrics is that they don't require any cleaning up!

Someone wrote that it is about oral sex. That's it. I don't know how this person knew this. I didn't tell them.

I think that despite you junkies, it's about oral sex! It only makes sense that "come on, come on" is about sex. "please me like I please you". I rest my case!

I did not hear this, I created this myself, and I agree please please me is about John or Paul not getting oral sex. I do not see another logical explaination, especially at their age. Thank you

He is in a relationship that is all one-sided; he is the one doing all the trying. He is saying "Please, please me!" "I please you now I want you to please me."

This isn't my interpretation, but I recently heard that the song is about oral sex........Sounds logical to me!
