Sexy Sadie Lyrics

Sexy Sadie what have you done
You made a fool of everyone
You made a fool of everyone
Sexy Sadie ooh what have you done.

Sexy Sadie you broke the rules
You layed it down for all to see
You layed it down for all to see
Sexy Sadie oooh you...

The song was written by John, and the original title was going to be "Maharishi" He started playing it with that name until George told him not to. He was afraid that the guru might file a lawsuit. Yes, John Lennon was truly angry with how much of a fraud the Maharishi was

Green Grass is a BEAST on drums. I'm stuck there on Medium too. It just goes on, and on, and on, and eventually my hands cramp up and the dog sttars getting anxious and the cat stands in front of the TV and OH GOD I'VE FAILED THE BASTARD AGAIN.

While watching across the universe with my cousin, who is like on the way to being a Beatles Jedi master, she told me that this song was about when the Beatles went to India for spiritual purposes and met that one dude (sorry, don't remember the name). They soon found out that he was a total fraud and was only flirting with young girls and they got angry, very, very angry and wrote this song. But, instead of using the name of the man (name still escapes me) they titled the song "Sexy Sadie."

"anonymous" almost has it...it was Prudence Farrow, Mia's sister (Dear Prudence was influenced by her, too) who was propositioned by the Maharishi. John felt quite protective of her, as she reminded him of his half sister and threatened to "pound him one" when he found out.

    Ma-har-ishi = Sex-y Sa-die

Ringo's "Devil Woman" would also recall - "Sexy Sadie - you look like the Devil to me".

The maharishi maheshi yogi, tried to seduce Mia Farrow, who was there with the fab four meditation group, and probably get it right...

Actually that anonymous guy is right, the song was written about Maharishi and the way John Lennon felt about him after leaving India.

This anonymous guy really has to get a grip. How about an "interpretation?" yes the maha had ideas about the beatles' "birds" and actually made one or two of them "sing" but hey, what is the song about? And get a name!

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

It is about marieshi (spell check) they didn't use his name beacause it would give him bad press. But it was rumored that marieshi tried to suduce on one of the girls in the Beatles entourage while staying in india. This is when they ended their ties with him...

Introspection run amuck, but brilliantly of course. "sexy sadie" is the beatles. Sexy sadie:

... You made a fool of everyone ... You broke the rules ... You laid it down for all to see ... One sunny day the world was waiting for a lover/she came along to turn on everyone ... Sexy sadie, how did you know the world was waiting just for you ... Sexy sadie, you'll get yours yet/however big you think you are ... Sexy sadie, she's the latest and the greatest of them all.

    Whayoo thing?
