Beatles: This Boy Meaning
Song Released: 1963
This Boy Lyrics
-
I may be way off the actual meaning, but ive gotten told that this song reminds someone of me and the relationship between us is very complicated. The way i interpret this song is that the ’this boy’ and ’that boy’ are different people. I think that they may also be way different versions of one person. Continuing on with the different people interpretation though, i think when they say in the song, ‘that boy’ they are referring to someone who was toxic and wanted to upset the ‘girl’ or whomever the song’s perspective is in. Ex “that boy wont be happy til hes seen you cry”. On the other hand ‘this boy’ just wants to love the ‘girl’ or again whomever the song’s perspective is in. Ex “this boy wouldnt mind the pain, would always feel the same” and onto “if this boy gets you back again”, then to the very end where THIS boy is repeated, instead of ‘that boy’.

Obvious, someone had a bad breakup and wants the love of his life back. Even if he has to compete, its all about getting her back and he is crying for her, come back, come back.he is elling her no love is better than mine, you must believe me.
