These are not figures associated with the performer and or writers personal life. The personal life can be the spark or inspriration for a song but the actuall song and text, if it has anything to do with Rock and all the endix' that follow the word..
Hard, Psychedellic, Roll, Metal, Pop, Blues etc, then it's mostly the same He. she. or it. that all the songs are for and about. They use different names and it's sometimes male sometimes female, sometimes it's unclear because the one they sing to could have born anyone amywhere and could have been given any name.
Sometimes it's the one singing to the other then it's the other way around. Why communicate through Love Letters put to music and why delivered by so many?
*If only I could turn back the clock to when God and her were born" "...Now there's a Wall between us, something has been lost. I took her for granted, got my signals crossed" (Shelter from the storm)
*Isabella, girl I'm fighting this war for the children the world and you, oh Isabella, Spill my blolod all for the love of you* Imagine a God having a wife who left him. *Don't put me so high I'm just a messenger" Jimi Hendrix -

The song is about Dylan himself and his own frustrations at that time. Queen Jane = Mary Jane = Marihuana. After all the crap he had to put up with from everybody, everywhere, he just wants to smoke dat Queen Jane man.
