John Doe Lyrics

[Intro: Priscilla Renea]
Seems like your heart stops working
The minute they close the curtain
And take off your mask
And take off your costume
And if anyone asks you're taking a smoke break
Drinking some coffee
But everyone knows what...

I think that its about losing the person that you are. John Doe(Male)Jane Doe(Female) is when some one is unidentified speaking medical terms so I think addiction comes and makes you a whole new person someone that friends, family ect may no longer recognize aka "John Doe" and In the song she says "I just want the John I know" meaning she just wants the person she knows and she says "Once you put the drinks on hold maybe you can come back home" meaning like once you get your self under control and find yourself again you can come home but at the moment its like the person is a stranger not their self. Thats just my opinion coming from a 17 year old I dont know how accurate it is but coming from an addict thats what I think...

I think this song basically says it all. Everyone has a addictionto something at times. If you let that addiction run your life and not change it will only bring down. I am so thankful I heard this song last week for the first time. The lyricd have touched my heart and stick with me. My sons dad is in jail right now because he made the wrong choices and picked his addiction over us. He had many opportunities to change and get help but he went back to his lifestyle. His addictions drugs and alcohol put him in jail and now he's facing prison time. I have also in the past had addictions to similar things but overcame those addictions. I have been clean for over a year now and I believe you can surpass anything and follow your dreams. If you follow your heart and dreams and put your mind to it anything is possible. I wish he would have to before all of this happened. Addictions cam ruim your life but if I overcame mine then I believe anyone can.

I think this song is about hiding who you really are, and the ways people cope with that.

I think this song is about a man who is trying to hide an addiction to alcohol and pills. He thinks he is fooling everybody but they know the signs. He is struggling wirh something he cannot admit to anybody, not even himself.

This song is about the truth of who you really are . we are human I have made mistakes in my life ran my credit card really bad my Dad had to pay it all . Problems never go away unless you tell the truth . We can learn from each others pain and see if we can be better in the End . No one is to blame my mistakes in the past except for my self . I pray for anyone who is in trouble to get the help they need to be better .

As an addict in recovery this song has great meaning to me. I can relate so much to it. For me this song is about the life of an addict that chooses his addiction (alcohol/drugs) over his family. It started out "socially" and became so aggressive that he couldn't stop using/drinking and eventually started using where ever he was making excuses like prescription or going to the gym (loosing weight).
