More Than a Feeling Lyrics
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away
Its more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a...

This song is about a guy who loved a girl with True Love, and lost.
As the years go by, faces naturally fade away, but not the face of your Angel, your "one" and "only" True Love. To the people that say, "Get up and go on with your life", I have to say, "You don't really understand what True Love is". It's not possible to go on without your "one" and "only" True Love.
I find myself listening to this old song more and more because I lost my "one" and "only" True Love and I'll "never" recover. My "one" and "only" True Love is Elizebeth.
Faces naturally fade away as time goes by, but the face of My Angel will "never" fade away. I can still see it in my mind, and I will see it for the rest of my life, "As clear as the sun in the Summer sky".
He is tormented for the rest of his life as he remembers his "one" and "only", True Love, and how he lost. He finds himself continually thinking back and dreaming of her. She is perfect in every way and he is constantly reminded of her and he dreams of her. Then he is crushed as he sees her "walking away", over and over again in his mind. The hell and misery is unbearable to him because, we only get "one" chance at True Love in this life. God only created "one", just for us.
Elizebeth is "perfect" in my eyes and in every way, and I'll "never" get over losing her. The heartache of "never" having her is more than I can bear. I know it's "all my fault".
This is what this classic by Boston, means to "me". -
I think that this song is about a man who wakes up feeling sad (the sun was gone) and tries to get his music to help. But he hears his and Marianne's "song," so to speak, and is lost in memory. He remembers their good times, and gets hopeful for a moment. But then he comes to the part where she leaves him, and becomes sad again. In the part where everyone slips away and faces are fading, it means he's become sort of a hermit, shutting himself off from the rest of the world, all because Marianne left him. Basically what I'm saying is, you gotta go out and live, rather than dwell on what happened in the past. Don't forget it, but don't let it take over you.

I know this sounds crazy. But I think it's Marianne from Gilligan's Island. Same era. Every guy on the planet that watched that show had a thing for her...

Well, I believe this song is about a deep heartfelt connection between the writer, someone in the band, or someone irrelevant and whomever Marianne or mary Anne is. These two felt a strong connection and a song simply binds the two together. As the man wakes up, he listens to music to ease his pain, as he loses himself in the song, he falls into a state of pure memory. As he goes deeper Into his
Memories, he realizes all that he has lost as this girl, for an unnamed reason, "walks away" walking away could also have a deeper meaning or even be metaphorical. For example: walking away could mean she died or moved away. Unfortunately, our current "protagonist" seems to slump into a state where he regrets very deeply whatever came between him and his potential lover, former lover, or otherwise. -
I agree with the top rated interpretation I'm not old but I'm goin through the exact same thing right now. Some advice to anyone if u love a girl tell her wats on ur mind. Especially if u know she likes u too.playing hard as steel like all of us guys do isn't worth it and it's extremely painful to think of wat coould have been I'm not even 20 yet and I no wat it's like. I've made the mistake and now she's changed and things will never be the same it's all I can do to atop from crying everytime I hear this song. So tell her wat u think.

I agree completely with the post above this. A man who fell in love but doesn't know what it could have been because he never told her.

It's ironic since he wakes up listening to music to soothe his emotional scars and for awhile it works, but the same music that he turns to for help also reminds him of his good days with Marianne and the pain he felt when she left him.
