    I think the butterflies either represent people we care about. Most the song is sort of longing to go to a fantasy world were people don't die and you don't lose them. The very end of the song is: Where butterflies, never die. Will Never die. Where butterflies...

    and then it just ends before the last never die can be said. Maybe saying that someone special just died and the whole fantasy just broke apart. That's just my main theory of many.
