Bruce Dickinson: Tears of the Dragon Meaning
Tears of the Dragon Lyrics
There were secrets in my mind
For too long now
There were things I should have said
In the darkness, I was stumbling for the door
To find a reason, to find the time, the place, the hour
Waiting for the winter sun, and...

I believe Bruce had some sort of religious upbringing, and fell into something very dark for many years,in a possible plea for help from something, someone, The most high shed true light on him for a brief moment, and without eyes Bruce saw what we call Heaven. PS this happened to me once, now I'm blinded possibly for good.

I think what he's trying to say is his Life before when he was walking in the darkness and he lived a sin ful Life and he found the winter sun and that Sun died for you and me and that Sun shines on him and his Life was enlightened because he discovered who is the Sun and he's walking in the path of light and he's life is okay now he's not walking in the darkness anymore and he's walking in the light in the light of the Sun whom helped him and whom raised him from the deepest of the sea

It's about Bruce and Steve Harris' relationship while Bruce was with Iron Maiden. How he felt cheated out of the whole deal with Iron Maiden. That's why bruce left the band. But he is back with them again.
