Songs about Elvis

How do you know when you've made a huge impact on music? When other songwriters write enough songs about you to fill an album. Not just covering your songs or dedicating songs to you - no, writing actual, whole songs just about you. Behind Jesus, the virgin Mary, and perhaps the odd political figure, Elvis is probably the fourth actual person with the most songs about him.

Not every singer is exactly respectful of the King, but the King himself probably had enough of a sense of humor that he wouldn't disapprove. Certainly fewer songs are respectful of his fan base, and these people probably have a less jolly reaction to the rib at their expense. Whatever your attitude on Elvis, you can't deny that he cast a long shadow (and if you're out there, Your Majesty, we'd love an interview when you get the chance).
