Like the Rain Lyrics

I never liked the rain until I walked through it with you
Every thunder cloud that came was one more I might not get through
On the darkest day there's always light and now I see it too
But I never liked the rain until I walked through it with...

A really basic story that correlates back to when Clint Black met his wife and he never really cared for the rain until he met her and got caught in a storm with her, both literally and figuratively.

"I never liked the rain until I walked through it with you
Every thunder cloud that came was one more I might not get through..."
"When the cloud is rolling over thunder striking me
It's as bright as lightning and I wonder why I couldn't see
That it's always good and when the flood is gone we still remain"

No matter what happens in the relationship he knows it will weather the storms of life and she will still be there with him.

"Like the rain I have fallen for you and I know just why you
Like the rain always calling for you, I'm falling for you now just..."

Self explanatory - He's fallen for her!

Like The Rain is about finding Jesus. The man ponders how hard life was until he accepted Jesus. He realizes walking through life with Jesus with him that even as he falls as long as he is constantly calling and staying close to Jesus that he will get through the thunderstorms and rains of life. He realizes he has always belonged here with Jesus but on earth he will always fall and need to call upon him.

I think it is about God clensing the earth of evil. 40 days and nights of rain. And when the rain subsides, the good still remains.

"That it's always good and when the flood is gone we still remain"

This is about Jesus. Liking the rain and forgiving our sins by rinsing them away.

    It's about acceptance of Jesus:

"Like the rain I have fallen for you and I know just why you like the rain always calling for you, I'm falling for you "

He is falling for Jesus Christ and longs to go to heaven. The thunder is the sign of the devil attacking.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Thunder clouds in the song are like all the rough patches in life. He knows no matter what there will always be someone he can rely on and talk to.

It means that he has fallen real hard for this girl and he doesn't want the way he feels for her to ever end.
