Dia Frampton: Inventing Shadows Meaning
Inventing Shadows Lyrics
-
To me, this song is about the effects of the boy's downing attitude on their relationship. The guy she is singing about is obviously depressed and emotionless. "They way you're livings like your half asleep." "So cold, so resistant."
She says "You don't even see the sun", the sun being the fun and joy of life. He "invents shadows where there are none" or in other words, tries to cover up by faking good emotions even though he is not feeling them. She truly thinks he's beautiful and an amazing person, but he puts a damper on her life, so she is thinking that it's best if she leaves.
-Well that's what I got from the lyrics. :) thanks! -
at first, I thought that she was talking about someone else. And how cynical they were about the perspective of the world. how the person never saw the silver lining and always looked at the cup half empty. but the last few lines when she said " time to save me... if I leave who could blame me?" , I couldn't help but wonder if she was referring to herself. did brung me to believe that she was suicidal about her life. maybe the meaning is much more deeper than it seems

She loves a boy, but he doesnt know how to have fun, doesnt know how to have fun. She thinks hes beautiful and flawless, but he is not grateful and hes just never happy right were he is. I can really relate to this song. I am in the same situation. I love Dia. She will have a good career.
