Diamond Rio: One More Day Meaning
Song Released: 2000
One More Day Lyrics
A wish was granted just for me
It could be for anything
I didnt ask for money
Or a mansion in malibu
I simply wished, for one more day with you
Chorus
One more day
One more time
One more sunset, maybe...

Ironically this song speaks to me about the emptiness inside of my heart after losing my Aussie, Tucker. With my adult children grown and pursuing their own dreams (as it ought to be) and my hubby extremely busy with his business, it was Tucker who has been a source of constant joy, enthusiasm and comfort.
I knew that I was his whole world, but had no idea until he was suddenly and tragically taken from me how much he had become my world…
Rest easy my lovable, happy, and oh so beautiful boy. -
All of the previous reason. All in the heart of what it means to you. For me it has many !

To me, this song is about what I would do if the person I loved, who died, came back to me for just one day--how I would cherish them, express my love, and never want to let them go. This song reminds us to appreciate the moments, days, even years with loved ones--because when they are gone, we would wish for "just one more day." I find this song very powerful, and written with great musicality.

I think it is talking about a person he misses and that person is no longer alive.....its a beautiful song and I can never get enough of it.....

to me the song is about missing a loved one. i personally am going through a long distance relationship now because of work for a few months and i really wish i could of had another day with em before i left

This is me and my husband's song. For us, it had significant meaning because we were long distance loves and we only got to see each other a few days per month and we were always wishing for just one more day together before one of us had to fly home. This song can be interpreted in many different ways. I always think of our early courting days when we talked every night on the phone and waited for those short visits together.
-
I believe that the song is about missed love not lost love... it's about someone who now knows that he had the one true love of his life and didn't realize it at the time... he walked away from that relationship but has never forgotten her... after years of being apart he now understands what walked away from... the song is about wishing he could be reunited with the love he left... the circumstances of their lives (perhaps one or both in committed relationships now) probably prohibit them from reuniting.
-
I believe the song means that the person has a loved one whose passed and that they are wishing for just one more day with that family member.
-
Is it a girlfriend/wife or someone who broke up with him or died though?
-
This song is about how he had a dream where he could wish for anything he wanted and in an ideal world, if he truly could have a wish like this the only thing he would wish for would be one more day, one more night, one more sunset and he would be satisfied. However the ironic thing is towards the end of the song he begins to realize that being satisfied is not really what he would be. If he had wished for one more day with her then that one more day would keep him wishing still for yet another day. So the cycle never ends because no matter how many one more days he gets, he loves and misses her so much he will still always wish for one more day with her.

I think that it can go more ways than one I 1 family or wife or friends
-
It's about a man that wished for one more day with the woman he loves.
