Dire Straits: Skateaway Meaning
Song Released: 1981
Skateaway Lyrics
stealing down a wrong way street
for all the world like an urban toreador
she had wheels on on her feet
well the cars do the usual dances
same old cruise and the kerbside crawl
but the rollergirl she's...
-
I think maybe they just met an actual "roller girl" and talked to her and quoted her in the song similar to how they did it with money for nothing.

The previous poster is INSANE. Seriously. Nothing to do with Jesus. Probably the other one... Regardless, just a song about how music was better before the MTV days -- when everyone got to make their own movie or add their own meanings to the songs they heard. Not terribly difficult to figure out... the come right out and say it.
-
DJ plays music....which describes the movie of this individual's life. Has to do with the concept of Jesus' life being described in song lyrics.
