Doja Cat: Candy Meaning
Song Released: 2019
Candy Lyrics
You just might forget that this was what you're gettin' hyped for
Late at night, do the things to him, mean that guy who
Need someone who's sweet enough, who'll shoot to make that high...

#1 top rated interpretation:I believe this song is about people being fake and not who they seem to be like when she says "She's just like candy she's so sweet but you know that it ain't real cherry" like you know that she's not actually sweet she's just faking it and doesn't want people to see her true side and when she says "sugar-coated lies unfolded you still lick the wrapper it's addictive you know this but you still lick the wrapper" I believe she's referring to being sugar-coated as being all nice but once you got to know her you now know she has been telling lies and there all unfolded but you still can't get enough of how sweet she is like candy but you know its fake.

#2 top rated interpretation:I would say it’s got to do with body images and “she’s so sweet but you know that it ain’t really cherry” reflects plastic surgical bodies and the comparisons of the different body and how the narrators body is better because it’s natural

So my interpretation is that she likes this guy… but hes interested in this trans woman. And shes slightly jealous / hurt he wants her instead.

I think the song is about a friend looking out for a man and when she’s just like candy she’s so sweet mean she’s nice but is not be nice fr she’s just doing to be fake and when it’s sugar coated lies unfolded it means the man found out about her faking being like candy but he can’t get enough and keeps doing it

She just like candy she's so sweet - but you know that ain't real cherry. Sounds like losing virginity to me - blood aint cherry - seems sexual. Maybe someone who has been turned into a sex symbol but is actually inexperienced.

I think the meaning of her song is about trying to tell someone that the girl there with is just fake and doesn't really like them. For example, the part where Doja cat said "She's just like candy she's so sweet but you know that it ain't real cherry" is referring to her fun and games and sweetness but deep inside they're just using them and they know but they love them so much it probably hurts.
The part where doja also said "sugar-coated lies unfolded you still lick the wrapper it's addictive you know this but you still lick the wrapper" Is trying to say that you know shes fake and just using them but they love them and is addicted to them and let them do whatever they want to them. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
