Don Henley: Miss Ghost Meaning
Miss Ghost Lyrics
I stumbled in my door
Disgusted with my circumstance
Soaked to every pore
When floating from my bedroom
Came a moaning and a sigh
“Oh, I've had one too many
It's just the wind,” says I
I lit up a cigarette
And I...

I think it’s a song of desperate need that was given up through a struggle. On this begotten night the need was strong. She came to his mind seeking his soul to give in. He wanted it but eventually turned it away.
I love this song. It could be anything that temptation knocks upon..your door. -
I believe the song is about cocaine. Heroin was not a huge deal back when this song was written, but coke was. JMO

Definitely about heroin addiction.

I think the song is the interpretation of a former relationship with someone. She was very loved but was never happy & over dosed. On this misbegotten night she returned to see if she could collect her former lover still seeking the satisfaction she never found in life. The man was clearly in love with the woman who was now a ghost, but he is also been tormented by her death & is also angry at her for overdosing. He curses the weakness of both the body & the mind because he is so tempted to go to her and is also still tempted by the very drug that killed her. He refers to a wicked little habit which could mean he blames himself perhaps for introducing her to the drug. In the end her coming back for him back fires because while her intent was bad he now sees that it was not his fault she died and he recognizes that he has to let go of her and his guilt to continue his life.

Na, not about Drugs or other similar addictions. This is clearly about the most important thing in life - relationships. Nothing God gives us more important. So this is clearly about all the lover's , loved ones, former husbands, former wives that have left you. You because of your current compulsive obsessive nature and personality must have something you thought was better than what you had, what you currently have or don't have. So you dream on and hope it's real and know full well you can not have it again. So you search and only if you seek the Savior will you ever have the peace you so actively seek in your desperation to remain on your daily high of a - relationship.
