Donald Lawrence: The Gift Meaning
Song Released: 2013
The Gift Lyrics
-
I love this song! How awesome of Donald Lawrence to call our attention to the fact that God has 'graced' each of us with a special 'gift or gifts'that work in our favor as it also glorifies God our Father and creator. When we recognize and use our gift 'it looks good' on us.

The song saying that everyone is born with a gift. God has graced you with this gift. Meaning that the gift didn't have to be given to you. It God's "favor" on your life or other terms "goodness", or "grace"...something you didn't ask for but was given to you just because God felt like giving it. The gift could be your nitch for cooking, painting, music, writing, etc. When you use your gift for God, it looks good on you. Your best you comes out when you "operate" in or use your God-given gift. It can give you extrordinary opportunties "open doors" allowing for people in high positions to see you.

I was wondering what this song really means. It's a nice song but it has me wondering about the lyrics. Certain words and ways that he say the words sound provocative in the meaning. Example: You're graced in that area or work your grace. That sounds like a provocative dancer. Then he says if you work your grace then it 'all work for you? What? ?? It has me curious because there is no praise or worship nor powerful testimony but lyrics. I pulled up the song on my MP3 app to listen to song and it pulled up 'birthday suit. Wow ! That gave me a negative feel of the song ever since especially as I listen for myself. I wonder. ???
