Serpentine Fire Lyrics

#1 top rated interpretation:I think it refers to Yogic meditation and getting the Kundalini energy to rise through the chakras.
The Kundalini is referred to as energy that is coiled at the base of the spine like a serpent. Meditation and breathing help to move the energy up through the different chakras to engergize the individual and assist in reaching enlightenment.
It takes work though. That's why EWF refers to battling the serpenting fire. -
Here's how Maurice described it...
"The Kundalini principle has to do with the fluid in the spine. After 29 days, if used properly, it can be converted into a higher consciousness of energy, which means you can step up or step down, it's your choice. It's called a serpent, because if you tipped the spine out of the body and looked at it, it would look like a serpent - and the fluid is the fire in the spine." He adds, "Nobody knows what I'm talking about, but a lot of kids go out and look it up and immediately it expands their consciousness."
I believe Maurice is talking about the Gospel. The fire can be used for good or evil, in his words "step up or step down, it's your choice."
Here he speaks of Jesus...
When I see your face like the mornin sun you spark me to shine
Tell all the world, my need is fulfilled and that's a new design
As long as you're near, there is no fear of a victory
Here is speaking of Satan's influeneces...
But when I'm away, influences stray my mind to disagree
Goes back to Jesus...
I wanna see your face in the morning sun ignite my energy
The cause and effect of you has brought new meaning in my life to me
The lyrics above are the "story" he wants to tell. The "morning glory" is a reference to the seeing Jesus's face in the morning like the morning sun.
Gonna tell a story morning glory all about the serpentine fire
Gonna tell a story morning glory all about the serpentine fire
oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah, oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah
Goes back to Jesus...
I need to see your face like the morning sun ignite my energy
The cause and effect of you has brought new meaning in my life to me
The moments I find when I'm inclined to do my best
Speaking of Satan's influeneces...
Negative wins when I give in and then I lose the test (not many times)
Gonna tell a story morning glory all about the serpentine fire
Surely as life begun, you will as one battle with the serpentine fire
oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah, oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah
Surely as life begun, you will as one battle with the serpentine fire
Surely as life begun, you will as one battle with the serpentine fire
Gonna tell a story morning glory all about the serpentine fire
Essentially seek Jesus EARLY (Proverbs 8:17 Those that seek me early shall find me.Then in my heart, I cried out: Father, I want to find thee this morning) because the Serpentire Fire is there to "step up or step down". Maurice is singing of Jesus igniting that energy, that fluid in the spine, that fire so that "new design" can be accomplished. If Jesus doesn't ignite it, Satan will. -
It’s a battle of love vs lust in the union which is pretty much caused by morningwood

Wow you all really got the answer
-
Could be a reference to Egyptian mythology (I mean, look at the album cover). Every night, the sun god battles the great serpent who wants to drag the earth back into chaos -- and wins, of course.

Something about snakes victory surviving power , fire

Bollocks!
Lyrics refer to the Penis being hard in the Morning (Morning Glory) and shooting his load (serpentine fire) -
Fire cleans what's left is pure.

The song says, 'Negative wins when I give in and then I lose the test'
We're all being tested, we all battle the enemy Satan, victory comes only when we battle him with Jesus as one. Satan tries to fill our minds with doubt.
They sing, "Surely as life begun, you will as ONE battle with the serpentine fire."
I hope they're talking about the battle against evil. life began with Jesus per John 1:1. I wish they would have said, "You will as one battle against the serpentine fire." -
I recall some trends during the time Serpentine Fire was released. In the black (soul) music on the air at the time, there were many songs of which the lyrics had messages. I recall reading an article (or was it that I was listening to someone discussing the matter on WBLS NY) back in those times, that said that song producers and such performers wanted to educate their audience (Young African Americans par say). Also mentioned in that discussion is that such performers & producers surmise that most African Americans don't like to read, and therefore it's ideal to try to convey such messages in a form that such fans and listeners would listen to. Examples of such songs are: Let's get away, by Earth Wind & Fire, What's Going On by Marvin Gaye, Family Reunion, etc. Although it is obvious such songs had messages. However, there were other songs of which the messages were more obscure, and were warnings.
Many of the songs pertained to the bad conditions of the world and those in power who are detrimental to the world, and therefore must be stopped. I suppose that What's going on was such a warning. I can easily name many more such songs that consist of such messages.
I think The Serpentine Fire was such a song. In the term Serpentine Fire the word Serpentine depicts the devil who are the detrimental people just mentioned, and the term Fire depicts their active bad influence on the world par say.
