Empire of the Sun: Walking on a Dream Meaning
Walking on a Dream Lyrics
How can I explain
Talking to myself
Will I see again
We are always running for the thrill of it, thrill of it
Always pushing up the hill searching for the thrill of it
On and on and on we are calling out and out...

I have another take on this. It's about the emerging economic relationship between China & Australia. Filmed in Shanghai (China's Big Business Hub), this song accurately foretells the future co-operation between our two countries & how it has been an enormous win-win situation for both. Given our past, it seemed impossible it could work, but made perfect sense. Under two successive Labor governments, we saw massive results quicker than any thought possible. The minute definitely worked overtime. Sadly, all we had was "tonight", as now, our current Governments (both sides & at every level) are actively destroying this relationship, which was so much more than just economic. Prophetic, relevant, way deep. Well Done, Perth Boys!
