Song Released: 2013
Chainsaw Lyrics
When I crank it like a chainsaw
Yeah, they like the way I do this
When I crank it like a chainsaw
Full throttle heavy metal
Set the bar next level
Wasteland gettin' all janky
Soul Glow, chainsaw

#1 top rated interpretation:I read the thoughts posted on here and I question most of you and your faith. My mind does not go to anything remotely suggestive or inappropriate with this song. I am not a sheltered, unaware child of the church. I grew up outside of the church in the eighties and nineties listening to music that was highly inappropriate so I know what I am talking about. I raise my own children to appreciate the beauty of a wide variety of music. I help them to understand what is and is not appropriate. If you are so easily recognizing anything inappropriate I suggest that you look at your own sinful nature that makes you more susceptible to this type of inference.
Many of FF5's songs are meant to be purely fun. I cannot stand that the only way many folks classify Christian music is if it beats you over the head with God, Jesus, or whatever else fits the criteria currently. There are many amazing Christian artists making worshipful music that does not get any airplay on Christian radio stations because they do not fit the overly restrictive standards that they set.
Sometimes the best songs to our LORD are subtle in how powerful they are. Sometimes Christian artists just want to put out fun music that is a clean alternative to the filth that is so prevalent on the market.
Work out your own issues that move you to fall into the gutter of your own mind and just try to enjoy some good clean fun. -
Listen Brothers and Sisters I am starting a mission that is based on this type of fun loving music it show creativity, Team (group)fun it also shows the nature that God created. My ministry will be based on Christian ROCK My mission name THUNDER the T will be in the cross form I will be at public parks n venues Exercising my Freedom of Speech I am tired of sitting in on Bible Study with a group and not getting out there and spread the word instead of just talking about it. So I am blessed that through Amazon Music Radio I discovered this song and recently watched the video on YouTube Thanks for listening get out there and spread the word and have fun doing it Randy Mishawaka Indiana

Here in Germany a christian organization who offers summer camp in various cities played this song this year. That is how I got to know it when my kids came home from camp. I grem up with pop and rock musics in the 80s and 90s, and also later in my adult life I listened to church hymns and contemporary christian artists. IMO the song is fun to dance along with esp. in such camps, but the text and melody of this song has no message of the Savior and no actual positive meaning - at least for me.
I wish the camp choose other songs. I am sure there are other christian or non-christian dance songs with more positive lyrics. -
Been logging all my life, running a chain saw all my life. Drop it like a chain saw seems to refer to the typical drop start that most loggers use to crank a saw. Seems to me just to be a comparison to how you play a guitar. In church we sing praise and worship songs. In my truck I like rock and heavy metal. I appreciate that there are bands like FF5 that I can listen to that put out music that doesn't promote trash, just fun.

FF5 are Christians i.e. theyve given their lives to Christ, therfore they are a Christian band.
Period.
Its a fun song for those that are not legalistic.

I don't understand the problem. Other than the fact that the song does not directly address anything Christ related, it isn't exactly a bad song in terms of meaning. Yes, some lyrics are 'questionable' but let's be honest, you cannot get a meaning like that from this song unless you are specifically paring it to that kind of thing. Maybe the label of 'christian' isn't the best either, but as long as they aren't being offensive towards Christianity or sending a message that goes against the teachings, then what is the problem? The song itself is stupid, but it's not negative. It's not teaching kids anything. It is just something to dance to - to have fun. Even God allows us fun, as long as it doesn't go against any of his rules or teachings.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's." Romans 12:2
Why do we as the body of Christ feel the only way to bring people to Christ is to "lure" them in with the world? I've randomly looked at the lyrics of seven of their songs. Not even ONE spoke of Christ, hope, faith, etc... I would like to know how they classify themselves as a Christian group when such lyrics could easily be mistaken for something VERY inappropriate.
"Lay in the cut with them elbows back
Engine smokin' just like this track
Shirt be soakin' from all this sweat
Catch my breath."
"Wa-watch and learn, watch and learn
G-get that thang crankin', yeah, slash slash burn"
"Beats so sharp that they're callin' me Jaws
I'm your boss, baby, crank it like a chainsaw"
These are just a few examples. I pray whoever uses their songs, especially this one, is convinced, as we are supposed to be set a part and different from the world. What is God's reaction to watching His people "celebrate" Him with such verbiage?

Prayer. Drop to your knee. Cut down your problems in prayer.

Chop it chop chop it chop, here we here we go go
Teeth so sharp that they're callin' me Jaws
I'm your boss, baby, crank it like a chainsaw
Chainsaw
Bows to the knees yeah crank it like a chainsaw
Bows to the knees yeah crank it like a chainsaw
Crank it crank it crank it back
Crank it crank it back back

Then you put it inside whatever you ride
Turnin' all the way up and hear you crank it
....
Bows to the knees yeah crank it like a chainsaw
Bows to the knees yeah crank it like a chainsaw
Crank it crank it crank it back
Crank it crank it back back
Give me a break...those who wrote and sing these lyrics are wolfs in sheeps clothing ( a so called 'Christian' music group singing this trash). These types of songs are even showing up in senior high youth groups, introduced by lost and ignorant Senior High Pastors at churches such as Davisville Church in PA. Get wise Christians and stop being used, since your weak disposition under the auspices of trying to be 'fun' is affecting the minds and morals of this generation ! -
I think it's just a song to dance to. It could also be about being awesome.
