Foreigner: Urgent Meaning
Song Released: 1981
Urgent Lyrics
-
I’m by far no expert but why couldn’t it be about sex and drugs. Why does it have to be one or the other? When it comes to writing and creativity it’s sad to have people debating like it can’t be both. It could possibly be both. Either way it’s a well written song. The music itself is good and the lyrics are as well. Music for me, is how someone can express themselves without inhibitions and freely. Yes, I’m curious as to the inspiration behind the song but I will just enjoy a really good song. At least, in my humble opinion it’s a good song.

There is NOTHING more Urgent on the planet than his need to see his one and only love Miss Heroin.
-
Sounds like a little bit of sex and drugs. But a woman that didn’t respect herself and can’t keep her legs closed. A guy that knows he’s going to get an easy piece of well you know. Not sure which is worse him or her. I will go with him.

I can understand how some think this song is about drugs - most of the lyrics fit that, but what about the part that says:
But sometimes I wonder as I look in your eyes
Maybe you're thinking of some other guy
But I know, yes I know, how to treat you right
That's why you call me in the middle of the night -
i think it about a girl and a guy who are sexual y attracted to each other. i dont think its about drugs .BUt whatever it a brill song.
-
This song is about a guy and a girl who doesn't feel any love for each other, they only feel lust. They want to be together during the night physically but they don't have any intention to be emotionally connected like when you have a social media, people get connected emotionally or those who have google plus, they are connected emotionally. They don't like each other mentally and emotionally because they only want to satisfy their physical desires for each other.
Korean fan -
It's about cocaine. Cocaine was at its peak in the early 80s. "You are everywhere, but you are so hard to find."
-
It's so obvious that it's about drugs. Sad to say, the only reason I know this, is because I am too an addict and I feel this song completely. Until you've lived that life, you won't be able to relate to it, or understand it. He's pretty much dope sick, and will do anything to get high.
-
Drugs... My opinion is that it leans more towards heroin or an opiate because of how 'urgent' his need is. And some of the parts where he's talking about a girl is a reference to drugs as well.
Examples : 'you're everywhere, but you're so hard to find'
'I'm not looking for a love that'll last, I know what I need and I need it fast' -
Drug and sex addiction
-
It is about a booty call!
-
Lou Gramm wrote this song.. its about a married women who cheats on her hubby with Lou! but Lou doesn't care, he just wants sex with her and that's it!
Sex buddies, yes exactly! -
It's definitely referring to heroin. "U wanna fly don't want your feet on the ground. You stay up won't come down, got fire in your veins" she has sex to get money to get high and their both satisfied, just in different ways.
-
Uhmmm...Urgent lay?
-
I believe this song is about a guy and a girl who are just sex buddies. They call each other when the feeling and urges of sex are "urgent" hence the name of the song!
