Fort Minor: Where'd You Go Meaning
Where'd You Go Lyrics
Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.
She said "Some days I feel like shit,
Some days I wanna quit, and just be normal for a bit,"
I don't understand why you have to always be gone,
I get...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think this song is about families who are dealing with the stress of one of their members who is away from home for an extended period of time. This may be for many different reasons -- the ones in the video show one where this couple's son off to the army, another one is where the parents are divorced, and the third is a family where the guy has a job (baseball player) that keeps him away from his family. What I'm confused about is whether the song is sung from the woman's or the man's perspective. I think it's from the woman's perspective, but I could be wrong. Powerful song!

#2 top rated interpretation:This song is about Mike Shinoda's family and how they miss him because whyen you become famous you don't see your family as often

I think this song is written for all people who miss their loved one.

I honestly really feel this song. It is about a guy who realized he screwed up his life by only focusing on work and never had time for his family. The song is sung in the perspective of the person who is at home missing the guy who left. However, it is the guy who realized he messed up his life singing this song. He knows he messed up, so he is singing as if he were the person who missis him.
-
i think it is about families getting separated because of things like the army and jobs around the world.
-
In regard to what perspective this song is sung from, I think that it is sung so that it could be from the man or the womans point of view. As someone whose dad was gone for long periods of time it could also be from a child's perspective.
-
Is this song about the writer's (Mike Shinoda) relationship to his girlfriend. I was thinking they hardly ever see each other due to the band (Linkin Park)...i could be wrong
-
I believe that it is about the stress everyone deals with about losing a loved one. I have been struck wit this feeling and its not a good feeling. But anyway he states that he waits by the phone just to hear that persons voice and he never does but when he is able to he will tell that person how he really feels. Then it states some where in the second verse that he does things to keep his mind off of it but when he does it only makes it worse and he stats to feel sad and he really want to tell that person how he feels but unable to.....Then in the last verse he states that he finally got over and he going to show that person how it feels to lose a loved so he's leaving and nver coming back.....
-
Its about mike shinoda going on tour and his family missing him as you see in one of the scenes he's sat on a bed with all his gigging stuff in cases behind him.
-
I think its a song about someone who has been separated from someone close to them. The person in the song is dealing with not having that person around and is reminiscing of the past. He needs the person, but the person, away, is moving on and forgetting about their past.
-
Yeah, very pretty song. I do thikn it's about families dealing with loved ones leaving for whatever reaso (in the video, it's obviously those who are going to war.) but I think anyone who is far away from their loved ones can relate to this song. Very pretty.
-
The song is about the perspective of the person left behind in long-distance relationships, but mainly about the consequences of putting one's career before one's family.
I have no idea why it was written. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
