    I don't know gnash personally. I'm just your average Joe, but I think that the song "Belong" is about trying to find your purpose in life and where you fit in. I'm not sure if this is written in his point of view, but the words he uses in the song really seems like he knows the feelings of confusion and overall, loneliness. In a part of the song, he says "now people wanna say they know me" as if people in the past shunned him, but now that he's living the famous life, they want to be his "friend".
