Green Day: Pulling Teeth Meaning
Pulling Teeth Lyrics
Broken bones and nasty cuts
Accidents will happen
But this time I can't get up
She comes to check on me
Making sure I'm on my knees
After all she's the one
Who put me in this state
Is she ultra-violent?
Is she...

#1 top rated interpretation:This song is a great song. It's about how Mike and his ex-girlfriend were having a pillow fight and Mike accidently broke both his elbows. And him and Billie were just laughing all the way to the hospital.
-
I could have sworn this was written, at least in part, about Misery. Every time I hear the first verse I can see Cathy Bates breaking old dude's knees, lol!
-
It about a bad relationship that Mike had. His exwife and him had an argument that became a pillow fight and he broke some teeth and elbows. Its NOT ABOUT BILLIE JOE!
-
yeah i agree with 04wolfa. It's about an abusive relationship that is way to out of control and the one being abused (Billie Joe) is afraid that if he leaves her, that he won't find anybody else like her because he was comfortable with her all along. He might also be dependent on her so he can't leave no matter how much he suffers.
-
The song pulling teeth is actually about being in an abusive relationship and no matter what they do, they still can't escape from the abusive relationship and that she (presuming it's a she) will always take care of him as long as he stays faithful and still loves her thus the line 'Just keep saying my love is true'
