Harry Nilsson: Coconut Meaning
Song Released: 1972
Coconut Lyrics
His sister had another one she paid it for the lime.
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em bot' up
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em bot' up.

I believe this to have a much deeper and relevant meaning than it has been credited for especially now
As this act of doing something harmful to yourself as well as others repetitively and getting frustrated when the doctor “can’t” help you such as addiction when it’s self chosen he is forced to medicate this person with the exact poison that this person consumed
At the end you hear a shout of frustration as I believe it to be the realization of this individual that we only have our own choices and actions and are alone in this world with these choices and realizes that only one self can help yourself when it comes to choices and especially self harm and the continuous act as well as the medication that brought you there didn’t and would never work and that belly ache won’t stop until “we” choose to accept this helpless state is self caused and chose to stop this continuous consumption as a reference to drugs and consumerism as well as abortion, greed, a ever lasting search for happiness in something dangerous and destructive when the awnser is as simple as to just accept that belly ache and the pain we all sometimes feel in life and move on instead of consuming more in hopes that it will cure this pain. Accepting the hurt as well as the good I believe is one of the most important things in life. To choose to be a victor and not a victim, as if you can meet triumph and disaster and treat those two imposters just the same. And before you accept the pain and realize it’s a part of life you will just hurt yourself again and again and again. As the doctor refers to her as silly by doing something that will hurt you knowingly and waking him up surprised to be in more pain. -
It was agricultural lime to ferment the sugars in the coconut juice.
She drank it too soon, that's why she got the belly ache. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I have found three answers that seem sorta plausible:
1) one stated it was the feeling of morning sickness as the lime causes the coconut milk to sour...and this was a prostitute continuing to engage in her hedonistic behavior and repeatedly getting pregnant.
2) a slang term for using marijuana..with its reggae beat, I'd say this could be true
3) a cure for a hangover
Having tried this and only getting a stomachache from it, I'd say you'd want to call the doctor...it tasted wonderful, but made you very sick after!
