He Is We: Kiss It Better Meaning
Kiss It Better Lyrics
And he lays on his bed.
Covers his head and closes his eyes.
He sees a smoking gun,
And the coward he ran.
And in his arms is the bleeding,
Love of his life.
And she cries,
Kiss it all better,
I’m not ready to...

#1 top rated interpretation:This is song is about a man who's girlfriend is murdered and she's telling him that if he kisses her wound better, she'll be okay, trying to make him feel better. But she dies and he sees the gun that killed her and he goes to find the man that did it and get revenge for killing the girl he loved. He finds the man and shoot him and now he's in jail. My favorite part is "Now he sits behind prison bars, 25 to life and she's not in his arms. He couldn't bring her back with a bullet to the heart of the back of a man who tore his world apart" That is so powerful, but it's saying how he was put in jail and he couldn't bring his girlfriend back to life by killing the man that killed his girl, and tore his world apart.

#2 top rated interpretation:This probably wont make sense but whatever:
This woman is with an abusive partner but is too scared to leave him, fortunately a friend of hers comes to the rescue and they run off together, eventually falling in love. Happily ever after until the night before the wedding. She gets a call from said abusive partner telling something along the lines of "If you show up at that wedding I'll kill you." Albeit a little anxious she ignores him and shows up at the wedding, ready to marry the one who saved her. The middle of the ceremony, and the doors bust open and HE comes in. In his hand is a pistol fully loaded. He raises the gun and shoots her in the chest. He tosses the gun down and walks out of the church. Her fiancé held her in his arms and she told him to kiss it better because she didn't want to die and that it wasn't his fault because she had chosen to ignore the death threat. The police somehow don't catch the killer and the widow takes matters into his own hands. He sets out with the gun that was used to kill his lover and the magazine fully loaded. he found the man and the murderer ran trying to escape. the widow raised the gun and fired a single shot hitting him square in the heart. Said widow is arrested for the murder and sentenced to 25-life in prison. -
it is my honest opinion that this song is about a woman who truly loves her husband, but things are not working out with them. She has met someone else and she is in love with them, and she is telling him that she loves him but she can't be with him. But she wants one last time for him to hold her and try to bring the love back. She cries because she does love him, but she doesn't love him enough to make it work anymore. So, she has him hold her, and all he can think the whole time is how he simply wants to find the person who has done this to his marriage and calls them the same pain that they have caused him. And the metaphor about prison is more or less saying that no matter what he did, in the end it's not going to change what happened. He can try to hurt the other man, and try to cause the same pain that the man calls to him, but it's not going to change the things that happened between him and his lover. Just my personal thoughts, and I hope you enjoy them

My interpretation is that this song is trying to say that two wrongs don’t make a right. For example: “He couldn’t bring her back with a bullet to the heart in the back of the man that tore his world apart”. This shows, that killing the man, who killed the one he loved, did nothing. She didn’t come back to life. He threw his life away to get revenge, but he still feels the pain from losing his love. Whichever path that he would choose, he would still have to live with the painful memories, and nothing changes that. If he didn’t kill that person, he could have led a better life, and still feel the same way.
The song in my opinion is also trying to stress that you shouldn’t make hard decisions, when you’re in a state of anger and sorrow. You’ll only face the hard consequences, which could lead to you feeling even worse.
“Kiss it all better I’m not ready to go” could possibly meant as a representation of the anger and sorrow you’re feeling when you make the hard decision. They are the source of your anger and sorrow, that keep haunting you, the more you don’t accept the truth.
“It’s not your fault love you didn’t know you didn’t know” may represent your subconscious concern for the action your choosing to do. You’re asking yourself if you should do it.
Judging by the woman in the songs words, it’s sounds like she doesn’t want her death to be avenged. She just wants the man to be happy, so she’s telling him the key to that happiness.
Sorry about how long this is. It’s just a theory of mine, that I wanted to share. -
I agree with a lot of you in saying how a man's love of his life is shot and he avenged her, and how he went to jail to show his love. I just want to say that, Any man that is reading this, if your woman asks you to kiss it all better, please listen to her because you may loose her. Just a saying though

PERSONAL INTERPRETATION.
This isn't the intended meaning:
With a personal view of this song,I feel as though it's about a woman who is going through a hard time and she simply wants her s/o to show her love. But then when things get so hard that she can't pull herself out on her own,she tells him to "kiss" the surface.Hoping that the simple act could help her open her eyes to the love from him.Maybe she's so far gone that it's not worth fighting for anymore. She told him it's not his fault. She doesn't want him to feel hurt,as she does.Yet after everything,he ignores the "kiss it better" and he tries to find excuses to why she's struggling. He picks it(the gun)up and takes it into his own hands. So that he can "avenge" what's happening to her.But that got him to the position of "25-life and she's not in his arms".He didn't listen to her.And that led to him loosing her; possibly forever.
Overall,if a female is going through a hard time,it doesn't have to be as hard as men see it.Sometimes it takes a simple kiss to make it all better.Show her love.Don't force her to see it by making heroic actions– Allow her to see what's already there. -
This song in my opinion is about a man's girlfriend who gets shot, and is dying in her boyfriends arms telling him that she want him to kiss it all better cause she's not ready to die yet. After the mans girlfriend dies he see's the gun the murderer used he picks it up and kills the murderer as revenge. The song/lyrics tell the story of how the man got in prison. That's what I think anyway.
-
The love of a man's life is shot, and she dies in his arm. The murder dropped the gun, and the man avenges his love by killing her murderer and then he goes to prison.
-
Apparently its about a married couple where his wife gets shot and he kills the murderers. And her last words were " kiss it all better, im not ready to go, its not your fault love you didnt know...... So yeah.
-
The girl in the song dies by murder in her lover's arms. He goes, avenges her death by killing her murder's, and end up in prison.

I don't know the true interpretation. But since I found out that this is an Christian band and I am a non-chistian who grew up surrounded by christians I have a pretty good few on those people and it seems to me that she is strugling with something. Its something that I know my family is struggling alot with to. This is about two people who are perfectly happy and something so terrible happens to them that it destroys both of there lives. And somethings tells me that she is questioning why this is happening to these good people. How can something so terrible happen to them. Its a question that always remain when your christian because in there book it says that there god is all loving but there are still things happening to people who are the last to deserve the things they get.
