    These 2 artists were former lovers( marina abramovic is the female. Ulay is the male). When they had broken up, 30 years ago, they agreed to each start at one end of the Great Wall of china, meet in the middle and give one last hug, then part ways. ( "thinking back to the last time on the wall as they turned away) In 2010, the female artist hosted an event "The artist is present " where she would sit face to face with whomever sat in the chair across from her and just sit in silence with them. Her ex- lover, unbeknownst to her, shows up in the seat across from her. This song describes his seeing her, and remembering the last time they saw each other
