Imagine Dragons: Tiptoe Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Tiptoe Lyrics
Watch me from above, Like a vicious dove
They don't see me come, who can blame them?
They never seem to catch my eye but I never wondered why
I won't fall asleep, I won't fall asleep
Hey...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:I think that it is a song about routing for success and making sure no one gets in the way of you making your dreams come true and being successful. By using the word tip toe it could interpret that they don't want anyone to know that they are going for their dreams - a song about not giving up perhaps

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:It's about someone who is constantly neglected and insulted but keeps going strong in the long run.
-
3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:I see it as an individual who's going to be great but is climbing secretly. Tiptoe higher, don't let them know were coming, keep your head down low... At least that's what I saw.

I think the song is about sung from the point of view of the other man in a relationship, and “they” are the faithful partner oblivious to it all. “Watch me from above, like a vicious dove” is to reference how innocent and docile he seems to the faithful partner in spite of his participation in the infidelity. “They never see me come, who can blame them” is because he has all the necessary info to avoid the faithful partner given to him via the cheater. “I won’t fall asleep, I won’t fall asleep” because he can’t lose track of time and risk being caught. “Take some time to, simmer down, keep your head down low” is them taking breaks to keep the partner from growing suspicious. “They won’t see me run, who can blame them, they never look to see me fly, so I never have to lie.” Is another reference to the partner’s oblivious trust in the cheater and the partner. “Nobody else can take me higher” is the obvious admission to his love for the cheater and their relationship, but in no way asking for it change.

Didn't anyone feel this could be used for a vampire series or movie? "Watch me fall above like a vicious dove, They don't see me come, who can blame them?"..." "From your slanted view see the morning dew
Sink into the soil, watch the water boil
They won't see me run, who can blame them?
They never look to see me fly, so I never have to lie"... Well, the first time I heard it I thought it was the soundtrack of a vampire movie... Anyway! :P -

It's about batman taking down criminals without the others finding him (they don't see me come who can blame them)
-
That actually sounds like a good explanation, now that you bring it to my attention. . .

I was wondering if anybody else agreed with me. I think this song is related to the Vietnam War. The part about a vicious dove? During the war there were hawks and doves. Hawks were for the war and doves were against it, but started rioting after the tet offensive. The tet was an invasion on a holiday by the vietnamese. that would explain why some parts say " dont let them see we're coming". And also some parts talk about flying. During the vietnam war there were many helicopters in use which would explain that. Does anyone agree? Or do i sound crazy?
