   This song is most likely influenced by Aleister Crowley. Cause Mr. Crowley wrote a book called Moonchild about a magick war over an unborn child.

   And Bruce Dickinson possessed while signing Moonchild?
   Don't be rediculous.
   You are probably the kind of people who believe that AC/DC ia an acronym for antichrist / Dead to christ.
   
   This is not the first time that people saying that Iron Maiden are a satanic band, they did it for the song The number of the beast.
   
   You probably see the devil in your soup and avoid the cereal alphabits in case the letters write Lucifer.
   
   Not only "Satanist" talk about the devil, but believers too.
   
   Is the priest, because he is talking about Satan, is satanist too?
   
   Perhaps Iron Maiden simply a band of believers that want to tell a story as a warning for the future?
   I don't know, but not Satanist. Some people who did not believe can even be curious and open a bible after listening that album...

   Moonchild is a person born under the star sign Cancer. The child in this song is also 7th son of a 7th son, and therefore has powers man does not possess. The song is sung in the 1st person perspective, who is Lucifer. He knows the power of the child so covets him. It is timed about 1 month before the child's birth. Hence the line " Gemini is rising"

   The fantastical lyrics are loosely based on Aleister Crowley's moonchild novel. But Bruce Dickinson sings as Lucifer, so its his view of what's gonna happen as in " you'll be mine soon child" also" iam he the born less one the fallen Angel watching you" this song is fantastic, everything you want nwobhm to be.

   The song as well as the whole album(which is a concept album by the way) is about the struggle between good and evil in man. On the same note it is a further development of the story of Eddie, their mascot. There essentially are two Eddies. If you look at the Number of the Beast album, you see the devil casting a spell, if you will over the evil Eddie, while the good Eddie stands over the devil.

   So without the need for speculation iron maiden do sing evil lyrics.
   So who knows?
   I guess they don't mind if you think they are Satanists.
   Otherwise they would have sung about cars or something no misunderstanding then.
   A man who polishes the murder weapon in public is either letting you know he is a criminal or is saying "I have nothing to hide look I can polish the suspected weapon in public".
   I prefer to evade such a man.
   Because the weapon is still dangerous and EVIL.
